Wladimir Jeanty
A man, a dream, a vision, a determination

From an early age, Wladimir Jeanty's mission was to build human bridges for a world with better justice. The MDF was born out of that vision.
Originally from the Gonaïves, Wladimir Jeanty holds a Law Degree (Haiti State University, 1966), an MBA (McGill, 1975) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Specialized Education (UQAM, 1976).
After starting a legal career in Haiti, he began a financial career in New York at The Chase Manhattan Bank (1967-1969). This financial planning experience allowed him to acquire sustainable management skills that he further strengthened with an MBA. He then put all this knowledge and experience at the service of his passion and vocation: education. For Mr. Jeanty, educating is a gesture of love coupled with an act of faith in future generations.
His 35-year teaching career (1969-2004) at the Commission scolaire Jérôme-Le Royer (now the Commission scolaire de la Pointe-de-l'Île) was marked by various experiences. From the beginning, he held various teaching, operational, administrative and pedagogical management and teaching positions as a middle manager. Its action covered both the regular and new sectors (at the time) of special education and multi-ethnicity. He also added the implementation of activities to facilitate the adaptation of newcomers to Quebec schools. A human resources advisor in the late 1980s, he ended his career as a principal in various elementary and high schools from 1990 to 2004, where his dual skills as a manager and educator were put to good use.
In a spirit of solidarity, he was involved as a citizen from 1970 to the present day. A strong partner of government circles, he participated on several committees and in various capacities, particularly on intercultural and interracial relations as well as on ethical issues related to equality rights. He was also involved in the community, including as a founding member of the Association des enseignants haïtiens du Québec (1983).
His busy schedule has never prevented him from forging ties with his native country. Upon his retirement, Mr. Wladimir Jeanty surrounded himself with some friends and created the MDF in 2008. Maison d'Haïti called on his expertise, and he became Chairman of the Board in 2009. It was important for the Maison d'Haïti to have new headquarters. Together with the members of the MDF, he gave priority to Maison d’Haïti. His passion, rigor and determination were contagious and effective. A modern building is now being built in the Saint-Michel district. The MDF is taking off again with a brand-new start.
